Help a school in your community by sponsoring an event

Sponsorship here does one specific thing: it brings this extraordinary experience into schools that could not otherwise pay for it. Find out how you and your business can help a school afford this utterly unique educational experience!

Become a sponsor

Give the gift of education, adventure, and live entertainment

Give the gift of education, adventure, and live entertainment to a school you choose. Full and partial sponsorship of a school helps students, parents, teachers, and administrators experience the extraordinary with Severe Storms Lab.

What sponsorship funds

Sponsors can cover the 30-minute assembly, the family evening event, or both. A visit covers a school visit and/or a family night, not equipment or take-home weather materials.

  • A school visit that would not otherwise happen. Most commonly a Title I school where there is no enrichment budget and no PTO balance to draw on.
  • Take-home severe weather safety materials that go into several hundred households after a single event.
  • Family evening events, which reach parents and grandparents as well as students.

What you get

  • Event signage. Brought to the school and displayed with the school's approval. No vehicle branding.
  • Website placement. Logo, link and a line about the partnership on this page, which is read by every school considering a booking.
  • Social media presence. Named in the event posts and in chase season content across the Tornado Alley Chasing channels.
  • A specific thank you. Named and acknowledged as the sponsor during the introduction of the presentation.
  • The school tells its families who paid for it, in the communication that goes home. That is the part that actually converts locally.

Who this suits

Businesses this makes obvious sense for

If severe weather is already part of your working life, sponsoring severe weather education is the most natural community placement you will be offered this year.

Disaster restoration

Storm damage is the business. Funding the program that teaches local families what to do before the damage happens is a straight line, and schools remember who did it.

Insurance agencies

Local agents carry community marketing budgets and are measured on local visibility. Weather preparedness sits exactly on message, in front of several hundred households a day.

Roofing contractors

Storm season drives the work. This is community sponsorship that is not another outfield banner nobody reads.

Local news and media

Station meteorologists already do school outreach. A partnership here brings ready-made content with it, filmed in a gym full of engaged students.

Chamber of Commerce members

A defined, local, verifiable piece of community investment that a Chamber can point to. Several member businesses can co-fund a single school between them.

Anyone wanting one school covered

Sponsorship does not have to be a season-long arrangement. Covering one visit for one school, once, is a completely normal place to start.

Tell him what you are thinking

There is no fixed tier sheet and no minimum. Say roughly what you have in mind, whether that is covering one school visit or a season-long arrangement with vehicle branding, and you will get a straight proposal back with the specific schools it would fund.
